Artist Statement
Artists have bridged the generations since the beginning of time. From cave drawing to sky-writing, we have felt the desire and compulsion to communicate through all of our senses: sight, touch, smell, sound, taste and intuition/love. Our role is to interpret our experience to future generations. We are the glue that keeps this and every civilization together.
With each new generation arises new concepts, new art forms...that change the paradigms of our culture. Yes, we change the world. We follow our passions and our dreams. We must have art to describe this era of our lives, to keep open the bridge to our history.
And our art history is abundant, our creativity limitless and our dreams for the future unending...
I follow a basic protocol when approaching the collage or an abstract painting: first the palette... then design format and composition ensue. My art reflects my experience of living in a multi-dimensional/media world, hi-speed communication and travel; and a heightened awareness of infinite possibilities. I also use recycled materials, which are found in abundance, and find the results to be of divine inspiration.
My goal is to teach children and adults who have no idea they have the ability to create beautiful, expressive art. I enjoy the one-on-one experience and thrive as a witness to the unfolding joy of each persons' discovery of their own unique experience....that will sustain the bridge.
